Boots for all-mountain skiing, for all types of terrain.
All-mountain skiing involves skiing on varied terrain and in different snow conditions during a single outing. on-piste, edge of the piste, off-piste, icy, powdery snow, etc. This type of skiing requires versatile equipment that offers stability, manoeuvrability and comfort.
How do you know if the boot you are trying on is the right size?
Put on the boots, close the buckles halfway and bend your knees three times, pressing down on your shins with your hands on your knees to push your heels back. When you are standing upright, your toes should touch the front of the boots. When you bend your knees, your feet should move back and your toes should no longer be in contact with the front of the boots.
What does the Mondopoint size correspond to?
Ski boot sizes are not the same as regular shoe sizes: they are measured in Mondopoint sizes. This measurement is used by almost all equipment manufacturers and simply corresponds to the size of your feet in centimetres.
What is the flex?
Flex is an indicator of stiffness: the higher its value, the stiffer the shell. A flex of 60 to 70 is considered suitable for beginners, a flex of 70 to 100 for experienced skiers, and anything above that is for experts. More athletic skiers can go up one level.
What should you do if you experience foot pain?
Choose a technical ski sock that's thin so it prevents pressure points and promotes blood circulation in the foot. Choose a sole adapted to the shape of your foot to prevent it from being squashed and pressing against the shell. Ask a salesperson in store for advice.
