Roof Top Tents

Yes, at decathlon.com.gr you will find innovative car roof tents (roof top tents) that you will love! Our collection includes hardshell versions as well as folding fabric (softshell) or inflatable roof tents. They are designed to offer premium comfort, durability, and the ultimate freedom to camp wherever it is permitted, featuring a built-in, comfortable sleeping mattress.

Roof tents can be mounted on almost any type of vehicle – from small city cars and hatchbacks to sedans and station wagons. The only essential requirement is that the car must be equipped with approved roof bars that meet the weight specifications of the tent.

The choice is based on three main criteria:
The vehicle's static and dynamic load: Check your vehicle manufacturer's manual for the maximum allowable weight on the roof while driving (dynamic load). The tent (along with the bars) must not exceed this limit (usually 75kg or 100kg).
Capacity: Choose based on the number of people. Our tents are available in versions for 2 to 4 people.
Type (Mechanism): Softshell/inflatable tents (such as the Quechua Fresh & Black) are lighter and more compact, while hardshell tents open even faster but are heavier.

Yes, it is perfectly safe, provided that the manufacturer's instructions are followed. Decathlon's roof top tents are aerodynamically designed to minimize wind resistance and noise. While driving, you should keep in mind that the car's center of gravity is slightly raised, so care is needed during sharp turns. It is also recommended not to exceed the suggested speed limit and to take the extra height into account in garages or toll booths.

Quick setup is their biggest advantage! A roof tent can be set up in less than 2 to 5 minutes. You simply remove the protective cover, unfold the tent using the integrated aluminum telescopic ladder as a lever (or inflate it if it is an inflatable model), and your bed is ready, complete with the pre-assembled mattress and pillows inside.

When the car is parked, the roof and suspension can support much more weight. Decathlon's roof tents, combined with the support ladder, are tested to withstand a static load of up to 200 to 300 kg (depending on the model), safely accommodating 2-3 adults along with their equipment.

Decathlon's car roof tents are the ideal choice for spontaneous getaways and long-term outdoor adventures, offering an upgraded sleeping solution for those seeking convenience and adventure to camp safely anywhere their vehicle can reach.
