Their main difference lies in thickness, weight, and weave structure. Microfleece is exceptionally thin, lightweight, and stretchy, offering great freedom of movement and high breathability, making it ideal for intense physical activity or as a mid layer. Conversely, sherpa fleece features a thicker synthetic fur texture that mimics sheep's wool, trapping more air to provide maximum thermal insulation and an extremely warm feel in very low temperatures or casual walks.

A fleece with a density of 200 g/m² is considered the most versatile mid-weight option for winter activities. It offers an excellent balance between thermal insulation and breathability, keeping the body warm in ambient temperatures roughly between 7°C and 10°C while moving. In more demanding winter cold, it can easily be layered under an outer windproof or waterproof jacket to effectively trap heat. Absolutely! Fleece is the ideal mid layer in the 3-layer dressing system logic. Its special knit traps body heat while allowing moisture from sweat to escape outward. Wearing it over a thermal top and under a waterproof jacket ensures maximum thermal comfort without adding unnecessary bulk to your outfit.

Synthetic men's polyester fleeces are extremely durable and retain their thermal insulation capacity for many years, as they do not absorb moisture. To keep their fluffy texture like new, machine washing at 30°C, avoiding fabric softener (which can clog breathable fibers), and air drying instead of tumble drying is recommended.

Anti-pilling treatment is a special finishing technique applied to fabric fibers that prevents the formation of annoying lint balls ("pilling") typically caused by frequent use and friction (e.g., from backpack straps). It ensures that the fleece will maintain its soft texture, aesthetic appearance, and density intact even after prolonged use.
