Crosstraining & Crossfit Equipment

Of course! On decathlon.com.gr you will find an epic collection of equipment for crosstraining and CrossFit-style workouts. Our range includes dip bars (parallettes), medicine balls, plyometric boxes (plyo boxes), jump ropes, gymnastic rings, TRX suspension trainers, balance boards, and Bosu trainers, designed to take your workout session to the next level.

To set up an effective workout station at home, essential equipment includes:
1. Gym flooring (rubber): For impact absorption and floor protection.
2. Dumbbells, hand weights, kettlebells & weight plates: For full-body conditioning exercises.
3. Jump rope (Speed rope): For double unders and cardiovascular endurance.
4. Balance boards & Bosu trainers: For deep core strengthening, improving balance, and engaging stabilizing muscles.
5. Plyometric box & Medicine balls or Wall balls: For jumps, throws, and functional power development.

The main difference lies in branding and structure:
CrossFit is a registered trademark and brand of a specific training methodology with officially certified gyms (boxes), specialized WODs, and a competitive framework.
Crosstraining is the general term for functional training that combines elements of weightlifting, calisthenics, and cardiovascular conditioning. It utilizes the exact same types of equipment, offering complete flexibility for every athlete without brand restrictions.

Beginners can safely utilize a wide variety of equipment, as intensity is easily scalable:
1. Suspension trainers (TRX) & Dip bars (Parallettes): Ideal gear for learning bodyweight exercises (dips, rows), allowing easy adjustment of incline angles.
2. Medicine balls & Soft Plyo Boxes: For safely practicing jumps and wall throws without fear of injury.
3. Balance boards & Bosu trainers: For building core stability, joint control, and injury prevention.
4. Fitness jump ropes: For progressively improving coordination and cardiovascular endurance.
5. Gymnastic rings & Resistance bands: For progressive pull-up conditioning and joint warm-ups.
All this equipment provides exceptional safety, allowing beginners to master proper technique before moving on to heavier weights.

For a functional Crosstraining corner, you need a minimum clear area of approximately 2x2 meters (4 sq.m.), which accommodates an exercise mat, dumbbells, kettlebells, and a jump rope. If you want to include an Olympic barbell (2.20m in length) or a squat rack, plan for a space of at least 3x2.5 meters with adequate ceiling height for jumps and overhead presses.

The right workout shoes and fitness accessories protect your body during high-intensity sessions:
Crosstraining shoes featuring a flat, stable sole with a low drop for weightlifting, combined with enough flexibility for running and box jumps.
Hand grips or weightlifting gloves to protect your palms from blisters and tears during pull-ups on the rig or rings.
A weightlifting belt to provide abdominal support and lower back stabilization during heavy squats and deadlifts.
Wrist straps and weightlifting knee pads for added joint stability during heavy presses and Olympic lifts.
