    How to look after and store your weights

    There are a few simple things you can do to keep your weight plates in good condition for as long as possible.
    - Store them in a dry place. If you keep them somewhere damp or outside, they could go rusty.
    - You should also dust them once in a while using a dry or damp microfibre cloth.
    - Store them on the bottom floor of your home on a storage rack (ref: 8788246) or on a wall-mounted plate rack (ref: 8796727)

    Our cast iron plates are made from at least 80% recycled cast iron

    Since 2018, our teams have been gradually integrating recycled materials until we reached the perfect balance. Following several years of experiments, Decathlon is replacing its entire range of cast iron products with recycled cast iron made from at least 80% scrap metal and steel waste – a real feat for the world of metal! To ensure that the quality is the same as classic cast iron, tests are carried out in partner laboratories.

    Weight training plates may be used with a bar or dumbbell, depending on your equipment (here on a bench and bar).

    Pec and tricep exercise:
    - Bench press 4×4 reps

    Keep 2 reps in the tank as you finish each set.
    Over time, and as you get stronger, you can increase the load by adding 0.5 kg or 1 kg weights.

    Safety first: get yourself some weights clips!

    If you buy these plates to use on a barbell or dumbbell bar, you'll also need some clips to train safely. The clip should be added to the bar after you've put the plate on it so that the plate won't slide off during your workout.

    From ore extraction to transformation into finished products, the industrial production of metals is highly polluting. To reduce our environmental impact, we design products from recycled metal. This approach reduces the need for extracting new raw materials, uses 40% to 95% less energy, and cuts CO2 emissions by at least 10% compared to virgin metals. Recycled metal comes from the recycling of scrap metal. After a process of sorting, cleaning, and crushing, the scrap metal is melted and refined to obtain a material of comparable quality to virgin metal.
