How does the mask’s Plasma anti-fog work?
Plasma anti-fog technology is a double treatment applied directly to the lens.
This treatment makes the surface hydrophilic, meaning it attracts water. Instead of forming micro-droplets (fog), the water creates a permanent, uniform film of water. This film prevents condensation and ensures clear, stable vision without the need for additional sprays.
How do I activate the anti-fog of the Skyline mask?
Activating the anti-fog is very simple:
Immerse the mask in water for 3 minutes before diving.
The treatment remains active for the duration of your dive.
To maintain long-term effectiveness:
- no special maintenance required
- never touch the inside of the lenses with your fingers
- avoid contact with oily substances (such as sun cream)
- rinse after pool use to remove residual chemicals.
Special features of the Skyline mask: Materials and structure
Frameless mask with a soft hypoallergenic silicone skirt, tempered glass, micrometric buckles and a special skirt-edge design for an optimised seal.
What are the features of the Skyline mask lenses?
For maximum safety and clarity, the Skyline mask is fitted with ultra-clear 3 mm tempered glass lenses. This material offers greater strength (2 to 5 times stronger than a standard lens) and is designed to break into small, non-sharp pieces on impact, reducing the risk of serious injury. It is also far more scratch-resistant than a polycarbonate lens.
What is mask squeeze and how can it be avoided?
Mask squeeze is a phenomenon that occurs during descent, even within the first few metres underwater. As pressure increases, the air inside the mask compresses, creating a suction effect that can cause discomfort or even injury (to the face, eyes, etc.). To prevent this, you must equalise the pressure by gently and regularly blowing air through your nose during descent.
