What’s it used for?
Ideal for seasoned hikers, this waterproof jacket offers the perfect balance between protection from the weather and light weight. Designed to take on the elements without weighing you down, it keeps you comfortable and protected, even in the pouring rain.
How waterproof is it?
Take on the rain with our hiking jacket! Its 25,000 mm waterproof rating (Schmerbers) keeps you dry, under medium to heavy showers. Performance approved by the JIS standard.
What are Schmerbers?
The Schmerber rating indicates a fabric's resistance to water pressure: the higher the value, the more waterproof the fabric. With a rating of 25,000 Schmerber, this jacket can withstand the pressure of a 25 m water column. This ensures optimum protection even in heavy rain.
What is a membrane fabric?
A membrane fabric that is both waterproof and moisture-wicking. This jacket has a three-layer design. This means that the membrane is integrated between the outer and inner fabrics. This design guarantees both robustness and performance.
Why choose a breathable jacket?
The drawback of waterproof jackets is often their lack of breathability. They keep you dry on the outside, but trap humidity inside. To avoid this, our jacket uses a breathable fabric and has large side openings for better moisture management.
What is a RET index?
Breathability is defined by “Evaporative Thermal Resistance” (RET). The lower the RET rating, the more breathable the fabric:
- RET ≤ 6: very breathable
- RET ≤ 12: breathable
- RET ≤ 20: not very breathable
With a RET rating of 12, this jacket ensures that perspiration is wicked away during exercise.
How do you wash this hiking jacket?
Close the zips, turn the jacket inside out and machine wash at 30°C. Use a small amount of detergent (preferably for waterproof garments) and run a second rinse to remove any residue. Wring out lightly to preserve the quality of the jacket.
How to restore the water-repellent properties?
3 methods:
- 15 min in the tumble dryer can reactivate the water-repellent treatment with which the fabric is impregnated
- Wash with our detergent for waterproof technical products and after-wash water-repellency reactivator
- Water-repellency reactivator spray
