Waterproof SUP Bags

Yes, of course! At decathlon.com.gr you will find an excellent variety of waterproof bags and dry bags specifically designed for Stand Up Paddle (SUP), which ensure that your personal belongings will remain completely dry. In the collection, you will find waterproof bags in various sizes, from small ones of 5 to 10 liters for the absolute essentials (keys, phone, wallet), to large 30 to 40-liter backpacks for clothes and towels. They are made of highly durable materials (such as laminated PVC or TPU fabric) and feature the reliable roll-top closure system. Additionally, they are smartly designed with a flat shape or special straps so they can be easily secured under the elastic bungees on the bow of your board, and you will also find specialized, fully waterproof phone cases.

Waterproof bags and dry bags for SUP are available in a wide variety of sizes to cover every need—from a quick one-hour paddle to a full-day or multi-day trip with your board. For short excursions, bags with a capacity of 5 to 10 liters are ideal for the absolute essentials (phone, keys, wallet), while a medium 15 to 20-liter bag offers extra space for a towel and a light windbreaker. For riders planning full-day paddle trips, bags with a capacity of 30 to 40 liters are essential, offering plenty of space for dry clothes, food, and a first aid kit. These larger sizes are usually designed as backpacks with ergonomic straps, and when closed correctly with the roll-top system, they trap enough air inside to float on the water if they accidentally fall off the board. For long-distance trips and to be fully prepared for any weather, combine your bag with an insulated water bottle that will keep your drink cool for hours under the sun, as well as a UV hat and sunglasses for absolute protection!

The speed at which a waterproof SUP bag seals depends on how you close it. This process is almost instantaneous, taking just 3 to 5 seconds to close securely thanks to the smart roll-top closure system. To ensure that not a single drop gets through, all you have to do is align the top opening of the bag, roll it tightly downward at least 3 to 4 times, and then clip the safety buckle. In fact, if you leave a little air inside before rolling it, this trapped air not only enhances the seal but also acts as a "life jacket." In case the bag accidentally falls off the SUP, it will remain floating on the water's surface like a buoy, giving you plenty of time to retrieve it without its contents getting wet.

For long and multi-hour excursions with your SUP, you need a bag that combines large capacity, absolute watertightness, and carrying comfort. The ideal choice for such journeys is a waterproof backpack with a capacity of 30 to 40 liters. These backpacks are made of highly durable, thick laminated fabric that resists abrasion and contact with rocks, and they feature a reinforced roll-top closure system and ergonomic straps for comfortable carrying on your back. At the same time, they are designed with a flat shape and special D-rings to secure perfectly under the elastic bungees on the bow of the SUP, without shifting the board's center of gravity. Many models also feature smart external pockets for quick access to your water bottle or sunscreen without having to unroll the roll-top during paddling.

Certainly! In fact, waterproof bags and dry bags are absolutely essential in kayaking, as contact with water and splashes are even more common than on a SUP. Waterproof SUP bags are 100% compatible with kayaking, since they share the exact same need: keeping your gear dry. In a kayak, where you sit lower and water easily enters the cockpit, such a roll-top bag is a lifesaver for protecting clothes and electronics. Additionally, their design fits perfectly into kayak geometry: the narrower and elongated bags (10L to 20L) fit wonderfully inside the dry hatches in the bow or stern of a closed kayak, while larger bags (30L to 40L) can be securely strapped onto the rear open deck of a sit-on-top kayak, ensuring they won't be lost even in the event of a capsize.
