    Why choose Ultra Gel?

During a prolonged effort, the challenge is not just to supply energy but to continue providing the fuel you need right up to the finish line. After several hours, gels that are too sweet, flavoured or sour can become sickly.Ultra Gel rises to this challenge:a neutral flavour, the consistency of hydrogel and a high carbohydrate content.A gel designed for prolonged efforts.

Neutral flavour with very little sweetness so you don't get fed up of the taste

Most gels are designed to be pleasing from the start. The Ultra Gel continues to please right to the end.Its neutral, slightly sweet flavour with no distinct aroma or acidity, means you’re less likely to tire of it as the hours go by.Ideal for consuming regularly without getting bored of the taste and feeling like you want to miss out a gel intake or two… Another advantage:it can be alternated with other products:energy drink, sweet or savoury purée, solid food.

An energy gel with a hydrogel consistency

Unlike conventional liquid gels, Ultra Gel is characterised by a dense, gel-like hydrogel consistency. Its consistency makes it easy to consume:it doesn’t run or stick to your fingers, and it doesn’t leave a pasty feeling in your mouth. In practical terms, this means a gel that is easy to swallow during long-distance events:marathon, trail running, cyclosportive, etc.

    30 g of carbohydrate, 2:1 ratio

For endurance sports, the recommended intake is between 60 g and 90 g of carbohydrates per hour, rising to 120 g per hour for trained athletes.Ultra Gel provides 30 g of carbohydrates with a glucose-to-fructose ratio of 2:1 to optimise absorption.• 60 g/h:1 Ultra Gel + 500 ml of Hydrixir Ultra
    • 90 g/h:2 gels + 500 ml of Hydrixir Ultra
    • 120 g/h:3 gels + 500 ml of Hydrixir Ultra

High intake levels should be tested gradually during training.

190 mg of electrolytes to compensate for the losses from sweating

Prolonged exertion, particularly in hot weather, leads to significant mineral losses.Ultra Gel provides 190 mg of electrolytes (sodium and magnesium) to help replenish these losses during exercise.

Developed in the field with our athletes

Ultra Gel was developed and field-tested in collaboration with OVERSTIM.s athletes, including François d'Haene, a world-renowned figure in trail running and ultra-endurance.It was their feedback with each intake and each race that shaped the decisions taken when putting this product together, i.e. the amount of carbohydrates, the very mild sweetness and the consistency.
