Yes, the jacket has built-in RECCO® technology! Used in most ski resorts, it increases the chances of being located in the event of an avalanche. The reflector, which is built into the jacket, can be located by rescue services via a detector. This should not replace responsible behaviour or the use of an avalanche transceiver.

How waterproof is this ski jacket?
The SKP 900 JKT jacket has a high waterproofing rating (20,000 mm Schmerbers) and has been tested in real-world conditions.
The waterproof fabric and design prevent water from entering, the seams are sealed, whilst the waterproof zips are covered by protective flaps. This jacket has been tested in a special shower that reproduces the conditions of the ski resorts, and in the field for several days in different weather conditions.
Is this jacket water-repellent?
The SKP 900 JKT jacket is water-repellent, like all Quechua jackets.
A fabric's water-repellent property is its ability to let water slide off its surface without soaking in. The fabric doesn’t soak up water and so remains lightweight, breathable and warm. It is made from a treatment on the outside of the fabric, which must be renewed (every 3 washes).
Is this jacket warm?
With 120 g/m² wadding, this jacket will keep you warm in temperatures as low as -5°C during moderate exercise. There are tightenings at the hem of the jacket, around the cuffs and by the hood, which prevents air, and therefore the cold, from getting in.
Is this ski jacket breathable?
The breathability of the jacket is measured using the RET, or the evaporative resistance of the fabric (ISO 11092 Standard): The lower this rating, the more water vapour generated by the body evaporates.
The RET for this jacket is 12*. It also features ventilation zips that allow you to adjust the airflow to suit your activity level.
* RET < 9 = extremely breathable 9 < RET < 12 = highly breathable
12 < RET < 20 = breathable
RET > 20 = little or no breathability.
What are the benefits of the lined material used?
This is a very thin polyurethane film that makes the material waterproof while remaining breathable. More flexible, lightweight, resistant and often more breathable than coating, which is less expensive and requires a protective lining, similar to paint applied to the inside of the fabric.
This product is repairable.
Beyond the warranty period (2 years), your product will still be repairable (seams, zips, etc.). During the warranty period, we will carry out repairs free of charge. These solutions are available at your nearest store.

How should you dress under your ski jacket?
When skiing, we talk about the three-layer rule: A first thermal layer (ski base layer), a second layer (fleece or down jacket) and a third layer, your jacket. Adapt the second layer to suit the conditions, or take along a bag so you can take it off during the day.
How to restore the jacket's water-repellent properties?
The water-repellency of your jacket must be regularly reactivated (every three washes): over time, even if it remains waterproof thanks to its material, the jacket seems to start absorbing water. To do this, use a reactivating spray or a treatment reapplication product, and follow the tutorial in the customer service section of our website.
How should I wash and dry the SKP 900 JKT jacket?
Close the zips, loosen the ties and read the instructions on the label.
You can use a tumble dryer or leave to air dry, and finish off by using the hair dryer for five minutes (the heat helps with waterproofing).
