Do these ski trousers feature the RECCO® system?
Yes, the RECCO® technology is built in! Used in most ski resorts, it increases the chances of being located in the event of an avalanche. The reflector, which is built into the trousers, can be detected by emergency services using a detector. This should not replace responsible behaviour or the use of an avalanche transceiver.
What features do these ski trousers have?
- 2 hand pockets
- Snow gaiters
- Adjustable rip-tab waistband
- 2 ventilation zips
- Loops for braces
- Cut-resistant protection at the bottom of the legs
How waterproof are these ski trousers?
The PANT SKP 900 trousers are ultra-waterproof (20,000 mm Schmerbers) and have been tested in real-world conditions.
The waterproof fabric and design prevent water from entering; the seams are taped and the zips are waterproof. This jacket has been tested in a special shower that reproduces the conditions of the ski resorts, and in the field for several days in different weather conditions.
Are these trousers water-repellent?
The PANT SKP 900 trousers are water-repellent, just like all Quechua ski and snowboard trousers.
A fabric's water-repellent property is its ability to let water slide off its surface without soaking in. The fabric doesn’t soak up water and so remains lightweight, breathable and warm. It is made from a treatment on the outside of the fabric, which must be renewed (every 3 washes).
Are these ski trousers warm?
With 60g/m² padding, these trousers will keep you warm in temperatures as low as -5°C during moderate exercise. The leg gaiters at the bottom of the legs prevent air - and therefore the cold - from getting in.
Are these ski and snowboard trousers breathable?
The breathability of the trousers is measured using the RET, which stands for the evaporative resistance of the fabric (ISO 11092 Standard): The lower this rating, the more water vapour generated by the body evaporates.
The RET for these trousers is 12*. They also feature ventilation zips that allow you to adjust the airflow to suit your activity level.
* RET < 9 = extremely breathable 9 < RET < 12 = highly breathable
12 < RET < 20 = breathable
RET > 20 = little or no breathability.
What are the benefits of the lined material used?
This is a very thin polyurethane film that makes the material waterproof while remaining breathable. More flexible, lightweight, resistant and often more breathable than coating, which is less expensive and requires a protective lining, similar to paint applied to the inside of the fabric.
Are these ski trousers repairable?
Beyond the warranty period (2 years), your product will still be repairable (seams, zips, etc.). During the warranty period, we will carry out repairs free of charge. These solutions are available at your nearest store.
How much do these ski trousers weigh?
0.82 kg in size L.
What should you wear under your ski trousers?
You don't need to wear anything under these padded trousers. However, in very cold weather, you can wear a breathable thermal base layer (known as a layer 1).
How can you reactivate the water repellency of your ski trousers?
The water repellency of your trousers should be reactivated regularly (every 3 washes): over time, even though they remain waterproof thanks to the component, they seem to start absorbing water. To do this, use a reactivating spray or a treatment reapplication product, and follow the tutorial in the customer service section of our website.
