What is the fit of this jacket?
Fitted cut and raglan sleeves offering great freedom of movement when hiking. Perfect for popping under a warm layer, like a fleece or a down jacket, to stay comfortable whatever the weather. To do so, go for a size up.
Anything to add about the hood
Height-adjustable hood with an elastic cord and drawstring. The built-in semi-rigid visor provides optimal protection. Added extra: triangular opening on the side of the hood to improve lateral visibility.
How waterproof is it?
Thanks to a waterproof rating of 20,000mm H2O (Schmerbers), this jacket withstands intense showers. With its taped seams, protected zips and 3-layer membrane, it keeps you dry in all conditions.
What are Schmerbers?
The Schmerber measures resistance to water pressure: the higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric. With 20,000mm H2O (Schmerbers), this jacket can withstand a 20m water column and guarantees optimal protection, even in heavy rain.
What is a membrane fabric?
Thanks to its membrane, this jacket combines waterproofing and sweat wicking. The 3-layer design incorporates the membrane between the outer fabric and the interior, offering greater durability and reliable performances on every hike.
Why use a ripstop fabric?
The drawback of waterproof jackets is often their lack of breathability. They keep you dry on the outside, but trap humidity inside. To avoid this, our jacket uses a breathable fabric and has large side openings for better moisture management.
What is a RET index?
The Thermal Evaporative Resistance defines the breathability of the fabric. The lower the RET, the more breathable the fabric:
- RET ≤ 6: highly breathable
- RET ≤ 12: breathable
- RET ≤ 20: Low breathability
With a RET of 6, this jacket guarantees great humidity evacuation during physical effort.
How to look after your jacket
Do up the zips, turn the jacket inside out, and machine-wash it at 30°C. Use a smaller dose of detergent (preferably one specifically for waterproof clothing) to avoid residues. Rinse again and gently wring out to protect the jacket.
How to restore the water-repellent properties?
3 methods:
- Dry the jacket for 15 minutes in a tumble dryer. This can reactivate the fabric's water-repellent treatment.
- Use our detergent for technical products then apply the water repellency reactivator.
- Use the water repellency reactivator spray
