    How warm is this down jacket?

    When worn as a third layer, this down jacket has been certified for a comfort temperature of -5°C when active during a standardised test in a thermal chamber. The model is wearing a synthetic long-sleeved T-shirt and a light fleece underneath. It works with a simulated 5 km/h wind.
    We have also tested this model in static mode. The comfort temperature is +5°C in this case.

    What are the advantages of a duck down and feather filling?

    The filling power of down has 3 advantages for mountain sports:
    - Thermal insulation thanks to the air trapped in the down and feathers.
    - Lightness: down is lighter than synthetic wadding while offering the same degree of warmth. This saves even more weight in your backpack.
    - Ultra-compressible.

    What are recycled feathers?

    Using recycled feathers involves using a mixture of down and feathers from products that cannot be reused. This limits the use of new resources by recycling existing materials that would otherwise be discarded. The quality of the filling is checked through lab tests to make sure it maintains its technical properties and keeps you warm.

    How to measure the fill power of a down and feather wadding?

    The fill power is a measure of the down's thermal insulation capacity and its potential to "trap" air. It is expressed in CUIN (cubic inches). So, down with a higher fill power (higher CUIN number) will occupy more space, trap more air and provide greater thermal insulation. This down jacket, filled with 90% down and 10% feathers, has a guaranteed fill power higher than or equal to 700 CUIN (international standard).

    How to care for a down jacket?

    This down jacket can be worn throughout the winter and will certainly need to be washed. But the less you wash it, the more it will retain its thermal insulation and water repellency.
    Summary:
    1/Machine wash with a detergent suitable for down or technical garments, at 30°, with 2 or 3 tennis balls. Gentle spin cycle.
    2/ tumble dry with 2 or 3 tennis balls, and repeat 2 or 3 times until it is completely dry.

    What is the water-repellency of the fabric (especially not to be confused with its waterproofing capacity)?

    The water repellent property of a fabric is its ability to make water run off its surface without absorbing it This prevents the fabric from swelling & keeps it lightweight and warm The fabric of this down jacket is water repellent,but we recommend that you wear a waterproof jacket over it in the rain The fabric is made water-repellent by treating its outer surface (with a PFC-free product), but this waterproofing capacity may deteriorate with use We recommend that you restore it after each wash

    How to restore the water-repellent properties?

    Once you have cleaned your down jacket, we recommend you use a water-repellent reactivator spray to preserve the hydrophobic properties of the outer fabric. This renews the fabric’s water repellent properties and optimises its performance throughout the lifespan of your garment.

    Recycled down and feathers come from end-of-life products filled with down, or from production waste. After collection, the filling is removed, then washed, dried, sterilised and air-sorted to recover clean, high-quality material. Once cleaned, the down regains all its natural qualities: it traps air efficiently, offering excellent insulation, lightness, and compressibility. Our tests confirm a fill power of 700 cuin, ensuring a high level of warmth and comfort. This choice helps reduce CO2 emissions by 38% compared to virgin down and limits the use of new animal-derived materials. The only precaution: as a natural material, it requires a bit more care when washing and drying to maintain its loft and performance.
