DRIVE TRAIN MAINTENANCE ADVICE
Please note that it is important to regularly service your drive train, especially if you ride in difficult conditions (wet and/or dirty roads).
Regular maintenance will help your drive train to last for longer.
The values below are average values given for information purposes only and vary depending on maintenance.
The average lifespan of a well-maintained chain is 5,000 km, and for a cassette, 10,000 to 12,000 km.
MECHANICAL DISC BRAKES
TEKTRO MD-C550 mechanical disc brakes
160 mm discs at the front and back
Breaking in the brake pads is essential when using a bicycle for the first time.
For optimal running-in, we recommend 20 to 30 braking manoeuvres without locking the wheel, starting at 25 km/h. Also, be sure not to stop between braking manoeuvres to avoid ‘icing’ and thus sticking the pads to your discs.
