Co-developed with Yannick Bestaven (winner of the 2020 Vendée Globe) to withstand a demanding round-the-world race
The Tribord Offshore PRO set has been developed and tested with Yannick Bestaven and other partner skippers. It meets all their needs during their races, whether they're inshore or offshore, transatlantic, solo or with a team, and on different boats: Yannick Bestaven (IMOCA), Quentin Vlamynck (Ocean 50 and Figaro 3), Achille Nebout, les Voileuses au Large, Keni Piperol (Class 40), Romain Le Gall (Figaro 3) and Léo Bothorel (Mini 6.50)
How to wear this merino wool-lined jacket
It's designed to be slipped underneath a sailing jacket thanks to its soft and thin materials.
The cut is close-fitting, with adjustments at the bottom of the jacket and at the cuffs.
To be worn with merino-lined dungarees, code 8785606.
Always at just the right temperature
When it comes to sailing, our challenge lies in designing products which will always keep you at just the right temperature, alternating between highly active phases (heat production) and static phases, whilst being exposed to the wind (heat loss).
This Offshore Pro Series:
1- protects against the cold,
2- wicks away perspiration and limits body odours,
3- is wind-proof and water-repellent
Insulation from the cold
On the basis of a thermal study of the human body, we identified the areas of perspiration and heat loss during active and passive phases.
We've selected the appropriate materials:
- Merino wool (250 g/m2) for its insulating properties, even when wet.
- Fleece in addition to the wool in certain areas
- Breathable mesh to evacuate sweat.
These 3 options vary from section to section
The neck and pockets have two layers of fleece.
Sweat evacuation and odour limitation
The built-in zip is the obvious choice to wick away perspiration during active phases (winching, manœuvring the sails, trimming, etc.).
The merino wool also boasts the property of limiting odours (ISO 17299-3 lab-testing). During long sailing trips, it's a real must.
Windproofing and water-repellency
The external fabric offers effective protection from the wind, which often makes you cold. A tightening system at the bottom of the jacket allows you to adjust it to your body shape. The draw cord can be accessed from inside the pocket.
The fabric is water-repellent, so the jacket is not watertight.
How to choose the size of your jacket
The jacket has a fitted cut. It has been designed to be worn with thermal base layers.
For men, if you want a fitted size, choose your usual size. If you prefer a loose fit, go up a size.
For women, we recommend choosing a size smaller than your usual size.
The cuff rip-tab can be used for a tight fit.
It weighs 625 grams in size L
