The collection includes strap-on, semi-automatic, and automatic models made from steel or aluminum from specialized Decathlon brands, meeting all international UIAA and CE (EN 893) safety standards.

Crampons are metallic traction devices with sharp points fitted onto the soles of mountaineering boots.
They serve to provide reliable traction and stability when walking or climbing on hard snow, glaciers, and solid ice, preventing dangerous slips and enabling mountaineers to safely traverse steep frozen slopes.

For hiking and mountaineering boots without dedicated grooves (welts) on the heel or toe, the only suitable system is strap-on (universal) crampons.
These feature plastic baskets at the front and back that cradle the boot, secured tightly with a durable strap, allowing safe attachment to virtually any rigid or semi-rigid mountaineering boot.

Antibott (anti-balling) plates are flexible plastic sheets attached underneath the crampons and are absolutely essential on all winter outings.
They prevent wet or soft snow from building up and compacting between the crampon points. Without antibott plates, snow buildup neutralizes point penetration, causing sudden and extremely dangerous slipping.

For classic winter mountaineering in Greek mountains (e.g., Mount Olympus, Parnassus, Giona), a pair of 10 to 12-point steel crampons is the most ideal choice.
10 to 12 points offer an excellent balance, solid footing, and secure grip both when walking on flat or inclined terrain and during steep ascents.

Sharpening crampon points must be done exclusively by hand using a fine metal hand file, never with a power grinder.
Power grinders generate high temperatures that destroy the heat treatment (temper) of the steel, leaving the metal soft and brittle. Always file parallel to the original bevels of the points until a sharp edge is restored.
