Can I find modern dance clothing available at decathlon.com.gr?

Of course! At decathlon.com.gr you will find a full collection of clothes and accessories for modern & contemporary dance, covering the needs of both kids and adult dancers. The range includes comfy tracksuits, flowy tops, leggings, sports bras, leotards, as well as favorite accessories like leg warmers—all designed by exclusive Decathlon brands with a focus on freedom of movement and total comfort.

What clothes do we wear to modern dance classes?

In modern dance classes, it's best to pick clothes that offer comfort, flexibility, and allow the body to move freely, especially during floorwork exercises. Standard attire includes stretchy leggings or loose, comfy sweatpants, leotards, tops, or relaxed t-shirts that let you check your body alignment.
Plus, since modern dance is usually done barefoot or in special dance socks, you can also opt for soft dance knee pads to protect yourself from floor friction and impacts.

What is the difference between clothes for modern dance and classic ballet?

The main difference lies in how strict the dress code is and the nature of the movement. Classic ballet calls for form-fitting outfits, such as leotards, pink/white footed tights, tutus or skirts, and ballet/pointe shoes, so muscle lines and posture are clearly visible.
On the flip side, modern dance wear is much more free and relaxed, featuring looser cuts, footless leggings, or sweatpants, while shoes are set aside since direct foot-to-floor contact is fundamental to the style.

Do modern dance clothes need special fabric?

Yes, fabrics for modern dance clothing should meet specific technical standards. High elasticity (elastane/spandex) is a must so the clothes move seamlessly with the dancer's demanding stretches and moves.
At the same time, they need to be lightweight and breathable to wick away sweat quickly, while offering extra resistance to floor friction to prevent tears and wear from frequent slides.

Are modern dance clothes suitable for gym workouts too?

Absolutely! Many modern dance pieces—like stretchy leggings, sports bras, sleeveless tops, and lightweight joggers—are super practical for the gym, Pilates, Yoga, or flexibility training.
Thanks to their stretchy feel, soft touch against the skin, and breathable qualities, they offer top-tier comfort for any physical activity, making them a super versatile choice for your daily workouts.
