How waterproof is it?
Take on wet weather with confidence! With its 20,000mm H2O (Schmerbers) waterproof rating, this jacket protects you from heavy rain showers. Taped seams and waterproof zips, a 3-layer membrane… everything has been designed to keep you dry.
Why choose a breathable jacket?
The drawback of waterproof jackets is often their lack of breathability. They keep you dry on the outside, but trap humidity inside. To prevent this, this jacket uses a highly breathable fabric (RET=6) and has large side openings to better wick away moisture.
What about the fit?
Its fitted cut with raglan sleeves gives you optimal freedom of movement when hiking. This design makes it easy to layer with a fleece or light puffer jacket, depending on the conditions. Practical tip: choose one size larger to make layering easier.
A hood with a bonus
This hood can be adjusted to the perfect height using its elastic cord and tightening part, while its semi-rigid visor provides optimal protection from the elements. The advantage? A triangular side opening that significantly widens your peripheral field of vision.
What are Schmerbers?
The Schmerber measures the resistance to water pressure: the higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric. With a rating of 20,000mm H2O (Schmerbers), this jacket can withstand a water column of 20m and guarantees optimal protection, even in heavy rain.
What is a membrane fabric?
The jacket's membrane fabric guarantees excellent waterproofing whilst effectively wicking away sweat. Made up of 3 layers, the membrane is placed between the outer and inner fabrics for optimal durability and performance.
What is a RET index?
The RET rating measures a fabric's breathability: its ability to wick away your body moisture. A simple principle: the lower the rating, the better it performs! With a RET rating of six, this jacket is at the extremely breathable level. Scale: <6 = extremely breathable, <12 = highly breathable, <20 = breathable, >20 = not very breathable.
How to look after your jacket
Simple maintenance in five steps: close all zips, turn your jacket inside out, set the washing machine to 30°C with a small amount of special waterproof detergent if possible. Add an extra rinse cycle to remove any residue, then spin gently to preserve its technical performance.
How to restore the water-repellent properties?
Three effective solutions to restore optimal water repellency:
1. 15 minutes in the tumble dryer to reactivate the fabric treatment.
2. Use our technical detergent followed by the specific reactivator (ref. 8914281).
3. Choose our reactivator spray (ref. 8938490), which is quick and easy to use.
