What is the advantage of the CONDENSLESS technology used for the VAN500 roof tent?
Condensless technology, which is the result of several years of research and development, allows us to design tents with a single-walled construction and significantly reduce condensation.
An aluminium coating is applied to the component to reduce the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the tent, while wicking away moisture.
In the event of heavy rain, humidity can still be formed inside the tent.
Is the VAN500 roof tent mattress sturdy and comfortable?
To keep out draughts, we used a solid material for our VAN500 tent mattress. Digital simulation also helped us design as robust mattress as possible. The mattress is composed of 170 structural seams, compared to 50 for our traditional mattresses, ensuring an excellent, flat surface and enhanced durability and comfort. The base that supports the mattress has 9 battens, resulting in a lighter structure without compromising on comfort.
What is the inside of the VAN500 roof tent like?
The VAN500 tent is equipped with a large full-length zip opening to protect you from insects.
Two large panels on the sides can be opened to reveal mesh ventilation panels. Ideal for enjoying starry nights.
The VAN500 roof tent also features a pocket on each side. This allows you to store belongings for two people. The top section also features a daisy chain and hooks for lights.
How waterproof is the VAN500 roof tent?
The VAN500 roof tent has been tested in the lab and in the field to ensure that it is waterproof.
For this, the whole tent was placed under a shower producing 200 litres of water per hour for 3 hours. This exposure is equivalent to tropical rain of 200 mm per hour.
The flysheet is made from 2000 mm Schmerber PU coated polyester and all seams are sealed with thermobonded tape.
How much wind can the VAN500 roof tent withstand?
This roof tent has been tested in a wind tunnel on a rotating platform. The aim is to expose each side of the tent to the same wind intensity.
With a properly assembled assembly, this van can withstand force 7, measured at 60 km/h.
