USEFULNESS OF THE STORAGE BAG
This rope is stored in a lightweight, compact gear bag, which can be easily attached to a harness or rucksack thanks to its straps. This means the cord is always close at hand, without getting in the way, whether you’re walking or skiing. No more need for rope rings around the torso! Its design means it can be slackened quickly and, in the case of crevasse rescue, the bag can even be thrown towards the victim to dislodge the rope more quickly.
IMPORTANCE OF LOW ELONGATION
The cord has a low elongation of 2%, combined with a structured, rough sheath made of PA and UHTWPE yarns, which optimises efficiency and performance during rescue or hoisting manoeuvres, while eliminating the effect of rebound when abseiling.
NOT SUITABLE FOR CLIMBING OR ROPING UP
This cord is static with a low elongation, insufficient to absorb the energy of a fall. If used to arrest a fall in climbing or mountaineering, it would transmit a violent shock to the climber and to the anchors, endangering the safety and integrity of people.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE ABSEILING
Please note: when abseiling, the small diameter of the cord (6 mm) makes braking difficult, as belay devices are generally designed for thicker ropes. There are, however, tricks to improve braking, such as using two carabiners. This equipment is for experienced users only and it is strongly recommended that you test its operation in a safe environment before use.
MID-ROPE MARKING
To improve your safety, the Sprint rope has a black marking indicating the middle of the rope.
MADE IN FRANCE
All of our ropes are designed and tested at our headquarters in Chamonix, in the Mont Blanc valley.
They are made in the North of France, in our advanced partner factory Cousin in textile braiding for the last 170 years.
WASHING GUIDELINES
It’s important to properly care for your rope to reduce wear. Dirt ages rope.
We recommend:
1- If the rope is dirty, wash it with clean, lukewarm water.
Should stains persist and you want to wash it with soap, it is important to use a pH-neutral soap (such as Marseille/household soap) and then rinse thoroughly with clean water.
2- Air dry the rope out of the sun and away from all sources of heat.
STORAGE ADVICE
Ropes should be stored in a cool, dry place, away from light, humidity, and corrosive agents. Never leave ropes inside a car during summer, for example.
CERTIFICATION
CE-certified rope in accordance with standard EN 564
