Ballet Shoes | Pointe Shoes

Of course! At decathlon.com.gr you will find a full collection of ballet shoes for kids and adults, covering every stage of learning. The range includes fabric and leather soft shoes (demi-pointes) with full or split soles, as well as hard pointe shoes from specialized Decathlon brands.

Pointe shoe sizing should provide a perfectly snug fit without curling the toes.
For soft shoes (demi-pointes), you usually choose your regular shoe size or one size up if you wear silicone guards.
For hard pointe shoes, fitting must always be done with your toe pads on, ensuring that the foot does not slide downward when standing en pointe.

Soft shoes (demi-pointes) are flexible shoes made of fabric or leather that allow natural foot flexion and are used for foot strengthening.
Full hard pointe shoes (pointes) feature a reinforced hard toe box and a rigid shank, allowing the dancer to support and balance their entire body weight directly on the tips of their toes.

Transitioning to hard pointe shoes usually occurs around 11 to 12 years of age.
This is because complete ossification of the foot bones is required, along with several years of preparation in soft shoes to build the necessary muscle strength in the ankles and arch. The decision should always be made in consultation with the dance instructor.

Replacement frequency depends on the shoe type and training intensity.
Soft shoes are replaced when the fabric or leather wears through or when a child outgrows them (typically every 6 to 12 months). Hard pointe shoes must be replaced as soon as the inner shank snaps or the toe box softens excessively, as they lose stability and no longer provide safety.
