Ski Gloves & Mittens

The ski gloves and mittens are both designed to protect the hands from the cold and snow during winter sports. But what should you choose between ski gloves and ski mittens? The benefit of ski gloves is its dexterity: handling objects is much easier because the five fingers remain free. It is then easier to adjust your helmet, or open or close a zip. Ski mittens, on the other hand, have the benefit of being very warm. By grouping the 4 fingers together, the heat is preserved around the hand. However, the dexterity will be inferior to that of ski gloves. We recommend ski gloves for skiers, who need dexterity in the hands to hold their poles. Mittens are aimed more at snowboarders, whose hands are not required as much and that therefore need more warmth. If you are looking to protect a baby's hands, we also recommend mittens, to maximize the warmth inside.

When skiing as well as when snowboarding, the hands can soon come in contact with the snow. That's why all the ski gloves and mittens in our range are waterproof. This keeps the hands warm and dry throughout the day of skiing, even in rainy or snowy weather. To prevent snow or cold from getting inside at the wrists, we recommend positioning the sleeves of the jacket over the gloves, and tightening the sleeves with the hook-and-loop tabs.

If they are too small, ski gloves will compress your fingers and hinder the flow of blood. Too big and they will not perform their insulating function that retains heat. Choosing the right size of ski gloves or mittens is therefore very important. The perfect glove size is the one that will allow a thin layer of air to pass between your hand and the glove liner in order to maintain the ideal level of warmth.
