Motion isolation: Look for mattresses with an internal structure composed of vertical cylinders or structural air beams (like Quechua mattresses). This design prevents the "rolling effect" toward the center and minimizes motion transfer, so you don't wake up every time your partner tosses or turns.
Firmness: Choose a mattress with a valve that allows for pressure adjustment. For couples, we recommend not over-inflating the mattress; when sitting, you should sink slightly, but when lying down, the mattress should properly support your body and waist contour.

Before purchasing, always check the dimensions of your tent's interior bedroom space, specified on the product page, to verify that the mattress width leaves a few centimeters of clearance on the sides so it doesn't compress the tent walls.

The time required depends on the type of pump you intend to use:
With a Decathlon electric pump (battery-operated or 12V), a large double mattress is ready in just 1.5 to 2 minutes.
With a double-action manual hand pump or a large foot pump, the process takes approximately 3 to 4 minutes of steady, effortless inflation.
If you choose a self-inflating double mattress, you leave it with the valve open for about 10–15 minutes to draw in air automatically, and add 2–3 final puffs by mouth at the end to achieve your desired firmness.

The process is straightforward if you follow the correct steps! Begin with complete deflation, opening the valve and pressing down on the mattress starting from the side furthest from the valve. If your pump features a "Deflate" mode, use it to pull all the air out until the mattress is perfectly flat. Next, fold the mattress into thirds (lengthwise) and then roll it up tightly toward the valve. Finally, place it inside its integrated fabric carry storage sack, which takes up minimal space in your trunk. When you return home, ensure it is 100% dry before storing it in a cool, dry place to protect the material from ambient moisture accumulation.
