Shoulder Cooler Bags

Of course, on decathlon.com.gr you will find an excellent variety of cooler shoulder bags. They are designed with comfortable, adjustable, and padded straps for easy carrying, making them the ideal choice for the beach, picnics, camping, or even for transporting your food on a daily basis.

A cooler shoulder bag differs from a traditional hard portable cooler in three key ways:
Portability and Comfort: Due to the flexible material and the shoulder strap, it is carried much more comfortably, leaving your hands free. It is ideal for instances where you need to walk some distance (e.g., from the car to a secluded beach).
Storage and Weight: It is extremely lightweight when empty. Additionally, because it is cloth-based, it can be folded or compressed, taking up minimal space in the trunk or the closet of your home.
Structure: A hard cooler offers protection for your food, ensuring it won't get crushed, and features thicker insulation for multi-day use, whereas the shoulder bag focuses on versatile use throughout the day.

The appropriate capacity depends on the duration of your excursion and the number of people. A cooler shoulder bag of 10 to 15 liters is ideal for 1-2 people for a day trip, as it fits the day's lunchboxes, a few fruits, and 1-2 small water bottles.
Cooler bags of 20 to 25 liters are the most popular and versatile choice for a small family or group (2-3 people). They comfortably fit large water bottles in an upright position, several refreshments, food, and the necessary ice packs.
If you are looking for the ideal choice for larger groups (4+ people) or if you are organizing a big picnic at the camp, then prefer a cooler bag with a capacity of 30+ liters, as it offers plenty of space for a whole day's supplies.

The cooling retention duration depends on the model, the insulation, and the use of ice packs. Without ice packs, a Decathlon cooler shoulder bag keeps food cool for about 2 to 5 hours, depending on the thickness of the model's insulation.
With ice packs, the duration skyrockets and can keep the contents cold from 7 up to 13+ hours, perfectly covering a full day at the beach or camping.
Tip for maximum performance: Always place the ice packs at the top of the bag, since cold air naturally flows downwards, and try not to leave it exposed directly to the sun.
