Why use a powerlifting belt?
This powerlifting belt is your secret weapon for your most intensive sessions! By improving your abdominal pressure, it naturally optimises muscle coordination when your body is preparing for an intense effort. The result: better stability for more powerful movements! It's the perfect complement to good technique.
What is this belt particularly good for?
Our SportLab's tests speak for themselves: this belt is the benchmark for your heavy sets! It has a unique capacity to minimise excessive back arching compared with other models, especially when you're pushing yourself to the max. For sets of fewer than 5 reps, it's just what you need.
Is there anything it can't do?
This belt is a safety net to stop your back arching on your one-rep max! But like all superheroes, it has its limits. The support it provides is perfect for short sets (fewer than 5 reps). For longer sets, though, it constrains you too much. And remember that no belt is a substitute for a tight core! Use it smartly for optimal performances.
What exercises can you use them for?
Your belt really comes into its own for technical movements! Whether you're weight training or powerlifting, you can hit your heaviest deadlifts and squats with complete confidence. Since your core stability is thoroughly tested by heavy loads, this belt is a real asset. Use it however bests suits your needs!
Why fasten it with a lever?
A lever means instant power! In one effortless motion, you get the perfect fit. This system gives you optimal support when lifting heavy loads, which is especially important for sets of 1 to 4 reps. Yes, it's a bigger mechanism than a rip-tab, but it's worth it. When every rep counts, superior support makes all the difference!
How do you put this powerlifting belt on?
Get the perfect fit:
- First, position the belt just above your belly button – or wherever works best for you.
- Getting it just tight enough is key. You're aiming for light pressure, but it shouldn't hinder your movements.
Top tip: if you can slide a few fingers between the belt and your belly, that's perfect! You should be able to breathe freely, with optimal abdominal pressure. Now you're ready to smash your PB!
Should you always wear a belt?
Your belt is like a super power. You should only activate it when needed! Wear it when you're lifting heavy loads, then let your muscles work naturally for lighter sets. Alternating between the two techniques is essential. It allows your abs and your back to strengthen themselves. As a result, you'll build your strength naturally while enjoying optimal support when you most need it.
