Fabric waterproofing
We measure a fabric’s resistance to a water column, in mm (based on the ISO 811 standard). The higher the water pressure resistance, the more waterproof the fabric. A component with a waterproof rating of 2000 mm can withstand up to 2000 mm of water pressure (which is roughly equivalent to a rain shower lasting 2 hours).
With waterproofing over 25,000 mm, the EVO jacket offers an extremely high level of waterproofing.
Garment waterproofing
The men’s EVO jacket has been approved in a shower test under 100 litres of water/m²/hour over 3 hours.
This test reproduces the conditions of a heavy mountain downpour.
Fabric breathability
The JIS L 1099 B1 test measures the amount of water vapour that can pass through a fabric over a given period. Its unit is grams per square metre per day (g/m²/24hr). The higher the g/m²/24hr value, the more efficient the fabric is at evacuating water vapour, so the more breathable it is
Garment breathability
The taped zip under the arms, helps to create air flow once opened, to further enhance ventilation.
The adjustments at the hem (tightens with elasticated drawcord and toggle) and cuffs (riptab strap) allow you to adjust the air flow through these areas.
Adjustment system at the bottom of the jacket:
This jacket has a double adjustable drawstring at the bottom of the product for excellent protection.
The adjustment is done inside the hand pockets. This ensures that the excess drawstring does not protrude from the jacket and interfere with your gear when wearing a harness.
Pockets
The two higher pockets are positioned in a way that makes them easily accessible when wearing a harness. Two hand pockets to complete your storage options. The EVO jacket also has an inner zipped pocket and two inner mesh pockets to keep things (gloves) warm and protected.
Zips
The main zip of the EVO jacket is a new generation double zip that offers the same waterproofing as the classic silicon zips (similar to those of the pockets), but is more flexible, which improves the compressibility of the jacket when stored. Plus, this zip is easier to handle, which helps to make it more durable. The 2-way zip allows you to use a harness under the jacket. The zip pulls are easier to handle with gloves.
Hood
The size of the EVO jacket’s hood makes it suitable for wearing a mountaineering helmet. It is height and depth adjustable according to your needs. A semi-rigid visor offers better forehead and eye protection. The high collar provides protection for the lower part of your face.
