| What are Schmerbers? |
The Schmerber rating measures the waterproofing ability of a fabric. The higher the number, the drier you stay. Our jacket displays 15,000mm H2O (Schmerbers): it can resist the pressure exerted by a 15m column of water. |
| What is a membrane fabric? |
The membrane? A shield against the rain! Bonded inside the fabric, this magical thin layer deflects the rain while letting perspiration escape. The result? You stay dry both inside and out. On this 2-layer jacket, the membrane is only bonded to the outer fabric. |
| How do you wash this hiking jacket? |
Start by closing the zips and turn it inside out. Then machine-wash at 30°C. To avoid detergent residue, put a bit less detergent in (for waterproof clothing, if possible) than usual and do a second rinse. Wring out at little as possible to avoid damaging the jacket. |
| How to restore the water-repellent properties? |
3 methods:
- 15 min in the tumble dryer can reactivate the water-repellent treatment with which the fabric is impregnated
- Wash with our detergent for waterproof technical products and after-wash water-repellency reactivator
- Water-repellency reactivator spray |
