TECHNICAL INFORMATIONS

Our Fouganza tip: the impact of the strap

The horse's comfort around the strap impacts its range of motion, its movements, and thus its performance as you ride. The strap area is sensitive and irritations can occur. It is strongly recommended to check that your equipment is not causing injuries both before and after riding, particularly as you place and remove the saddle.

Our Fouganza tip: strap sensitivity

An injury by the strap could be tied to skin sensitivity, but also to poorly-maintained equipment or equipment that isn't suited to your horse's body. So it is important to check that the strap is smooth and without any abrasive excess thickness. Regular strap maintenance (with glycerine soap, grease, or other) will help prevent the accumulation of dirt and stiffness that can injure the horse.

Our Fouganza tips: a suitable girth

The shape of the strap greatly impacts your horse's comfort. A poorly adapted shape can increase pressure on the horse's thorax and elbow. To limit this, check the space between your strap and your horse's elbows. This guarantees good mobility in the hind limbs and reduced pressure points. When at a stop, it is recommended to be able to pass a flat hand between the tip of the elbow and the strap.
