Waterproofing:
Novadry's exclusive Beaufort 3L component is guaranteed to keep you dry even in the most extreme conditions. In the rain simulator, the jacket stayed for 24 hours under the equivalent of a 450 L/hr/sqm storm without the tiniest drop getting through the product. The component's waterproofing is guaranteed to more than 28,000 mm of water pressure. All seams are fully taped.
Hood:
The high-visibility hood is adjustable 3 ways: visor height, field of vision and head size. The semi-rigid visor is equipped with a flexible shape memory edging.
Insulation:
The neoprene waistband can be stretched and adjusted using two large rip-tab fasteners. This creates a perfect connection with the longjohns.
Protects documents and multimedia accessories:
The "kangaroo" front pocket also has a pouch which is fully watertight to protect any non-waterproof belongings from getting wet.
Storage:
The centre pocket with silicone zip contains two storm drawstrings, one of which secures a fully watertight 130 x 200 mm pocket. This pocket contains two small compartments for storing accessories (shackle spanner, knife, etc.) and keeping them from jostling around.
Hand-warmer pocket:
The large, hand-warmer kangaroo pocket is lined with 300 g fleece and includes a large ring connected to a strap that can be positioned on the outside so as to clip your kill cord snap hook or your gloves for easy drying.
End seals:
The inside of the collar and wrists feature adjustable synthetic rubber cuffs with rip-tab strips for a long-lasting, effective seal.
Collar:
Intuitive double collar adjustment using exclusive rip-tabs combined with an elasticated insert for greater comfort.
What is a waterproofing test or "shower test"?
Approved test where the garment is placed under a shower simulating different weather conditions. All our products are certified fully waterproof having been tested for 4+ hours in rain of 100 L/hr/sqm to 450 L/hr/sqm depending on the product use. To put this into perspective, the highest recorded rain fall was in the USA in 1942, when 174 L/hr/sq.m. fell over 4.5 hours (NOAA). The average rainfall in Paris is 2 L/hr/sq.m. (www.Paris.fr)
What is a waterproof and breathable HYDROPHILIC membrane?
The membrane works in stages to wick away perspiration. Firstly, the fabric absorbs water vapour until it is saturated. Then, due to the difference in pressure between inside and outside the jacket, the fabric disperses the water vapour outwards. The main advantage of the hydrophilic membrane is that it does not contain pores; consequently, there is no need to constantly rinse the fabric to wash off any salt water crystals. Breathability therefore remains constant over time.
Score to compare the environmental impact of products
The environmental impact of the product is calculated over its entire life cycle and with different indicators. An overall score (ABCDE) is attributed to help you easily identify the products with the best environmental performance by comparing products of the same type with one another (T-shirts, trousers, backpacks, etc.).
Decathlon chose to apply this voluntary environmental labelling scheme.
