A suitable outfit
When physically active, the body produces heat. The thermal insulation of the outfit preserves that heat. If your clothing is unsuitable, the body will get colder and blood flow to the hands will drop in order to retain heat in the central core. Gloves and clothing must be suitable to keep hands at a comfortable temperature.
If you're unsure about size, it is always better to opt for a pair of hiking gloves that are slightly too big than too small.
How much warmth does this glove provide?
All our gloves are laboratory-tested using a thermal hand to determine their level of insulation and minimum temperature rating.
The temperature ratings (normal and limit) are based on a study carried out by a panel of 23 testers walking in temperatures ranging from 41°F to -4°F and a 6 mph wind. These temperatures are only valid when walking.
The warmth of the Over-Glove has a rating of 2 out of 5.
